All About Me

~ Miss Tama ~

My name is Tama Beeson and I have been a childcare professional in St. Louis, Michigan since 1985.  I am married and have 2 wonderful daughters ages 21 and 17.  I am very active in bowling and also enjoy spending time at the lake and boating.

In 1992, we built a new home so Kids' Land could be run solely out of the lower level and has completely furnished for the daycare with a full kitchen, full bathroom, pre-school area, play area, infant room, and  movie and quiet area which includes 2 computers specially for the children.

I have been very happy with my career choice.  I dearly love taking care of children and my oldest daughter Amanda, now works for me full time and my youngest daughter Arika works part time.  Although childcare is not what I thought I would choose as a career path, I can not imagine doing anything else. My proudest moment was when I won the  "Governors Quality Care Award" in June of 2002.  It was then that I knew in my heart, that I really do make a difference in the lives of the families and children I care for.

 Adult, child and Infant CPR Certified.

 Community First Aid and Safety Certified.

 Child Abuse Identification since 1990.

 Association For Child Development since 1986.

 Partner for Prevention - Gratiot County Child Protection        Council since 1994.

 Families in Partnership with Childcare Professionals since        1995.

 Caring for the Future Partner since 1990.

 Completed 48 hours "Infant and Toddler  Caregiver             Training" through Michigan State University.

 Have been caring for 2 children with Cystic Fibrosis for 8      years.

 Cared for 1 child with Downs Syndrome for 1.5 years.
